Maria
I love it. In today's ever-so connected world, online communications are efficient yet impersonal. Face to face sommunications is KING- and we should not forget about it. Your tips are simple yet powerful. Thanks for raising the awareness.

Mohammed,

I like Bret's QUEEN analogy. I may write something about that...or maybe YOU will...race you to a post "Personal Branding Guy"!

Bret,
You make some very valid points. And, I suppose I should of started my article saying "all things being equal" - meaning that if you were great at what you do, had the best and most up to date content, then what would differentiate you from everyone else or draw them to you? Anytime I speak I reference the "know, like and trust" factor and for sure, KNOW (knowing what you do; being best at your profession; having the latest and greatest info) is first and foremost.) Yet, if you are stellar at content or best in your profession but you're a jerk or horrible in creating and NURTURING relationships then you lose. People have too many choices today - of candidates, contacts and people to do business with. They will choose someone who knows their stuff, who knows people they know, who they like and who they trust. And, the last three items can only be determined through conversation.
I like the QUEEN analogy very much! I might write about that soon :) Thank you for your insight!

With Twitter, Facebook, etc.

I think conversation play a major part for bringing people to your content as they trust you. You can write the best articles and tips in your niche but if you don't communicate it to the tight people and convince them they you are expert then content can not play alone.

Which one is the king? heeem ... lets see queen Maria :)

Maria, I very much appreciate what you are saying about the value of conversation. But content is still king in this media because valuable content is what we give to others to get them talking to us and about us. Without exceptional content, there is no conversation. And I agree with you that it should not be the kind of content that says "here is what I sell and how to buy it" but the kind of content that people can use TODAY for FREE to address really vexing issues in their lives. I think conversation is queen, and content will always be king. Thanks, Bret
