Personal Branding Pledge for 2010

Repeat this pledge every day. Post it on your bulletin board. See how you get what you want in 2010:

This is my year.

I’m fighting for it.

Fighting to keep the big, juicy prize in mind so it lands in my hands by the end of this year.

Fighting to see and stay on the road, high or low.

No stopping for distractions, no matter how attractive.

I have no respect for roadblocks: inadvertently or purposely cast in my path.

I’m fighting to obliterate my own inclination to please, appease or do anything less than seize the day; every day this year.

I’m exploding with energy, but conserving it, too.

I vow to plow through walls that surround me and beat anything that threatens to defeat me.

I own my ideas, my process, my results and my truth.

I own the rights. I own the turf. I own this fight, from round one.

I will make it to the big dance with a performance that’s bigger than a personal best.

I will cross the line in record time, with a valedictory lap on the track, flashing the victory sign.

This is my year.

I’m fighting for it!

    Nance,

Your 2010 pledge could not have come at a better time. This is my year to say “no” to “noise” and “yes” to book writing time. I have already printed and posted your pledge. Thank you for giving us an “at-a-glance” affirmation that supports our succes potential.

  7. Hello Nance,
Wow, I have to agree with my colleague Sara. Your words ring so true for me on so many levels. What’s more, I’m currently working on the very chapter of my book that is all about saying no, setting limits and boundaries, and getting rid of noise and clutter of all types. All in the name of (finally) being as productive, on target, and effective as I can be in my professional pursuits. This is my mission; and I owe it to my audience to get busy and get it done!

I like the Pledge. It’s a refreshing spin on affirmations that I am glad to be reminded of. I especially like the part about “roadblocks”.

Brilliant. What a great way to start the year. Ya know, I think if more people had this attitude, we as a nation would be getting somewhere. Very powerful indeed!

I have retweeted and hopefully can pass this great read around. I think I am gonna make it a must read for all of my resume clients.

    Thanks Nance… Great stuff!
