Last year, I wanted a creative way to market the release of my new book. I decided to have buttons made (the ones with pins on the back) and I gave them out to friends, family and colleagues to wear around. The folks at Buttonworks took my cover art and turned it into cute rectangular buttons, and they were super cheap! Check them out online at www.buttonworks.com

I started without knowing all this and I think myself to be somewhat near the right track.

I have a blog and profiles at Twitter and Facebook but my most of the audience/followers belong to a particular genre - Sikh Religion because of my blog.

Do I need to start another blog or will putting up a separate page regarding my book will be sufficient?

Please tell me how to get my book into the libraries.

I am in the midst of this with my book set to publish in late May. I'm happy to see that I've done much of this already so i know I am on the right track, given the fact that your advice has never steered me wrong. Thank you. This is a great enhancement for my marketing plan. There is so much advice out there that does not speak to me at all. I'm glad I landed right here when i did.

Thank you so much Dan. I'm thrilled to have found you. My book will be released Fall of 2009, and I'd like to have ten marketing ideas in place and roll one out every 6 weeks or so. I'm most excited about creating a bonus gift e-campaign and looking for fabulous people in the business/customer service arena to include. Would love your thoughts about doing it effectively.

Dan: Thank you for these great book marketing tips. I have a book in me, I just haven't gone into labor with it yet. BTW, I just joined the linked in group Personal Branding Network.

Steve, things have already changed a great deal. A lot of bloggers get book deals because they've built up a community to market to. Thanks for commenting.

My first book probably won't be published for at least another two years, but I am sure many of these tips will still be relevant then. Looking forward to watching this blog in the months (years?) to come. Thanks for the great advice!
