Nice Post.
I have had problems with my own personal branding. I recently had blogged about it as well.
My biggest problem with rebranding myself is the effort and time. I have registered myself as 'djteknokid' throughout various social networks for the last 17 yrs on the web. How would I go about rebranding myself? I feared that 'djteknokid' sounds little too immature to be considered sierously in the professional field of busienss.

I like the model you provide because it is intuitive and helps me think big picture about personal branding. But you give a lot of specific ways I can look at the details to make that model work. Bravo and thank you!

@David: Thanks for your comments. I agree that too many people are focused solely on personal PR, but if you ask them what their goals are, you'll see that their actions are bit mis-aligned.

@Terra: Looking forward to more from you as well. Thanks for commenting!

Wonderful post! I don't seen enough in personal branding or personal marketing about creating alliances, and am so glad you mentioned it here.

Also, thank you for citing my article as well. *=) Looking forward to reading more from you!

The title of this blog post might be timely for many as we cruz through 2009. Talented people have been busy busy busy with their personal brand communications, but realizing there is no business model to capture and retain business. Let alone provide excellent customer service differentiation. Nice work.
